Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS), a leading company commercializing fusion energy, is developing a 47-acre campus to advance fusion research and demonstrate the feasibility of creating fusion energy as a power source for commercial applications. The campus will include advanced manufacturing facilities to fabricate components for fusion research applications and science and engineering buildings to conduct research. The campus design allows for scalability as the science is advanced and fusion power is brought to market. Highpoint has served as a prime consultant/civil engineer for overall campus master plan and infrastructure strategies, and design of a 164,000 sf advanced manufacturing facility with corporate headquarters. Responsibilities included design coordination of campus infrastructure for all project phases, planning and site design, civil engineering, municipal permitting, and construction phase services.
