The Hayden Research Campus is a life sciences facility originally developed by W.R. Grace in the 1970s as a research and development facility. The property underwent multiple expansions until purchased by Cubist Pharmaceuticals Inc. in the 1990s, during which Highpoint assisted Cubist with various campus expansions until their acquisition by Merck in 2015. The property was acquired by King Street in 2016, who implemented their vision to create a vibrant life-sciences campus in Lexington. Highpoint have served as the prime consultant/civil engineer for the campus, responsible for planning, municipal rezoning, civil engineering, and construction of many projects including:

  • Reconfiguration and expansion of loading dock and related facilities for 65 Hayden Avenue
  • 110,000 gsf, two-story, vertical lab building expansion above an existing, one-story 93,000 gsf building for 65 Hayden Avenue, including new pedestrian courtyard and auto-court
  • 300 vehicle, 3.5 level, structured parking garage
  • Reconfiguration and expansion of building entry and auto-court for 55 Hayden Avenue
  • 220,000 gsf, four-story lab building with site amenities
  • 1,050 vehicle, 7-level structured parking garage
  • Elevated pedestrian walkway interconnecting the parking garage and lab building to protect sensitive environmental areas
  • Environmental enhancements including consolidation and improvement of stormwater management facilities, surface parking and impervious area reduction, stream channel restoration, wildlife habitat corridor enhancements along restored stream channels, and public connectivity through the site to the Hayden Woods Conservation Area
