Franklin Financial Park is a commercial/industrial property originally developed by Digital Equipment Corp. in 1980. GFI partners acquired the property in 2015 and retained Highpoint to prepare a master plan for commercial development expansion, together with a negotiated land swap to facilitate development of a new Franklin Charter School on the property. Acting as lead consultant, Highpoint assisted with the design and permitting of a new 300,000 sf warehouse/distribution center on the campus together with design coordination to support the Charter School. The project design includes modifications to existing parking and access driveways to accommodate the large building/truck court footprint and utilizes or upgrades existing utility and stormwater infrastructure to support the expansion. The project underwent extensive local permit review including negotiations with municipal stakeholders for protection of public water supply, and full MEPA environmental review resulting in promotion of roof-top mounted PV solar panels for renewable energy.
